Casino Las Vegas Review
In a city where themed casino resorts are still very prominent, it was only a matter of time before someone looked to capitalize on the allure of the city of Paris, France and build a Paris themed resort casino hotel on the Las Vegas strip.

Circa Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV: View Tripadvisor's 36 unbiased reviews, 73 photos, and special offers for Circa Resort & Casino, #155 out of 282 Las Vegas hotels. Location is the main draw at this mid-range casino hotel, which is right in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. It's a good value, and unlike some other similarly priced properties, the entire hotel, including the rooms, gets high marks for cleanliness.
In 1995, that’s exactly what Bally Entertainment set out to do, on a 24 acre lot next to Bally’s Las Vegas. Two years later, in 1997, construction began on this $760 million property. Paris in Las Vegas would certainly need to include a replica of the Eiffel Tower, and the original plan was to build a full size replica, although this needed to be toned down to just half size due to concerns about interfering with aircraft.
Two years later, the 33 story Paris Las Vegas opened with much fanfare, including fireworks shot off from their Eiffel Tower and French actress Catherine Deneuve flipping the switch to turn on all the lights of the property.
In addition to the Eiffel Tower replica, whose legs rest right on the casino floor, the Paris Las Vegas features several other famous French landmarks, including a 2/3 size replica of the Arc de Triomphe as well as a replica of La Fontaine des Mers. While the hotel casino has gotten away from the theme a bit over the last few years, it still remains a strong feature of the resort.
The parent company of Bally’s at the time, Hilton, became acquired by Harrah’s, who later bought out Caesar’s Entertainment and ended up keeping the Caesar’s name, and they currently own the Paris as well as its sister property Bally’s Las Vegas, which is linked together with the Paris by a walkway. Guests of either property can thus freely move between them and enjoy all the amenities they both offer, adding value to a stay at either, although there’s certainly plenty to enjoy at the Paris alone.
The Features of the Paris Las Vegas
The French theme is certainly more than just showy exterior replicas and it is well represented in the décor of the hotel as well, and the style here is classical French countryside accommodations. The rooms are well done in this motif and this does indeed look more like a good European hotel room than an American one.
This is a large hotel, with almost 3,000 rooms. A real nicety here is that the room rates contain no hidden fees, and when you book a room at a certain price there aren’t significant extra resort fees added on. One may then expect the rates here to be higher but this is not the case at all and you can get a fine room indeed for as low as $59 a night.
There are several different styles of rooms here, with both smoking and non smoking rooms available, all elegantly appointed, with marble bathrooms featuring both a bath and a walk in shower, as well as other extras.
In addition to a wide selection of different rooms and configurations, there’s also a great choice of suites available here, ranging from the 700 square foot Classic Suite with 1 King from $259 a night, all the way up to the Napoleon Suite with 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, from $4500 a night, fit for Napoleon himself and his entourage.
There are several very impressive restaurants here starting with the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. Diners here can enjoy the great view and enjoy great food perched 100 feet above the Las Vegas strip. It was named by USA Today as America’s most romantic restaurant, specializing in foie gras, beef Wellington, roast rack of lamb, and filet mignon with truffle sauce.
You can also count on great food at Gordon Ramsey’s Steakhouse, with the menu and preparation directed by the famous chef to his exacting standards. Among its offerings is a Hell’s Kitchen tasting menu for $145 a person.
Chef Steve Martoranno lends his talents to Martoranno’s, which dishes out some of the best Italian food in Vegas. Burger Brasserie serves up French style gourmet burgers. Mon Ami Gabi specializes in seafood and fries, only these are the real French fries from France, called frites.
Hexx Kitchen and Bar combines upscale American cuisine with their own crafted chocolates made on site. JJ’s Boulangerie serves up mouth watering sandwiches and pizza. La Café Ile St. Louis is a Paris style sidewalk café overlooking the casino floor. Yong Kang Street is a Taipei style Asian restaurant.
Le Village Buffet features all you can eat food from all 5 regions of France. La Creperie has a variety of crepes waiting for you to enjoy. Beer Park is a rooftop restaurant serving American food with a great view included at no extra charge.
Entertainment options include a nightly show of Napoleon’s Dueling Pianos, where two pianists compete side by side, while guests sing along to their favorite songs. R rated hypnotist Anthony Cools also performs his hilarious show here, in addition to other acts that perform here.
The Chateau Nightclub is a 45,000 square foot venue where you can dance the night away and even enjoy a great view of the Bellagio fountains from the rooftop. Those looking for an even better view can go up the 46 story high Eiffel Tower replica, ascending in a glass elevator to its observation deck at the top.
At the base of the tower is a two acre pool area with manicured French garden. The Paris Spa by Mandera will pamper and relax you. There’s also several bars and lounges, a beauty salon, plenty of shopping, and you can even get in a round of golf at a nearby partnered course.
The Casino at the Paris Las Vegas
Guests here can enjoy a large gaming area of 85,000 square feet, including 1,700 slots within a Parisian styled streetscape. For those looking to play a little bigger, you can check out the Champagne slots area with higher limits and more lavish treatment.
The Paris Las Vegas is particularly known for its great craps and has won the award for Best Craps in Las Vegas. They do a great job laying out several other popular casino table games as well, including Blackjack, Baccarat, Mini Baccarat, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker, Pai Gow Tiles, Three Card Poker, and Let It Ride.
Sports bettors can also check out the Las Vegas Race and Sports Book on hand, and watch all the action unfold on either big screens or on individual monitors right at your seat.
There’s no poker room here but those craving some head to head poker action can just walk over to the poker room at Bally’s, which features plenty of action including several tournaments that run each day.
Overall, the Paris Las Vegas just doesn’t offer the closest thing you’ll find to Paris in Las Vegas, it’s a fine casino resort period, with lots of great features, and one of the very best in the city in this respect. This is a destination well worth considering even if they didn’t offer casino gambling, although they do, and that just makes it even better.
