Long Beach has been pushing for a casino for years. The economy here has struggled over the past decade, and some feel a gaming establishment could bring in the kind of revenue necessary to turn things around. Local developer John Parrish began formulating a plan to have a casino approved in the city more than two years ago. The Mississippi Gaming Commission met in November to discuss the application.

John Parrish will need to prove he can provide the financials for the casino to be completed. That will take some time. It’s an extremely exciting time for this small city desperate for some more money.
